Portland is full of homes with old fir floors.I have done my fair share over the years.Although fir is a soft wood compared to oak with several coats of quality finish it holds up quite well.
And in my opinion one of the best looking floors when properly refinished.The color tone that the wood takes on over the years cant be imitated!

Did you hired a company for the refinishing job or did it yourself?, i am also planning to do this but don't have any idea from where to start.

ReplyDeleteNot sure where you are,but here in portland there are some companies that will set you up with materials and equipment for DIY.
I would just call some companies and ask around.
